Historical overview of StopDigging
Our journey began in 2012 with a vision to revolutionise the construction industry. Two friends, frustrated by traditional, cumbersome methods, recognised a better solution. Drawing inspiration from ground screws used in solar installations, they saw the potential to simplify foundation buildingā€”eliminating the need for digging or concrete. Motivated by a dedication to efficiency and sustainability, StopDigging was born. Over the following years, the company expanded rapidly.
In 2018, Richard Alm assumed the role of CEO, tasked with accelerating growth and professionalising the organisation. Under his leadership, StopDigging shifted from a product-focused approach to a demand-driven model. This strategic pivot, combined with a refined distribution strategy, led to significant revenue growth and a doubling of the companyā€™s size within just a few years. This success enabled StopDigging to prioritise building a strong international presence and improving operational efficiency.
Between 2019 and 2021, StopDigging forged partnerships in several new countries, including the United States. During this time, the company also achieved ISO 9001 certification, becoming the first in the industry to reach this standard.
In 2021, we embarked on an exciting new chapter. Seeking a strategic partner for our next phase of growth, we welcomed Sobro as a majority owner. That same year, our commitment to environmental sustainability was recognised with ISO 14001 certification.
Today, StopDigging operates in over 20+ countries worldwide and has several international certifications. With approximately 200 partners globally, we deliver 20ā€“30 projects daily, continuing to drive innovation and promote sustainable foundation solutions.
